• GRAPE VARIETY
Montepulciano 100%
Montepulciano is an indigenous grape variety from Abruzzo. The earliest written records date back to the mid-1700s and describe the cultivation of Montepulciano in the Peligna Valley (Abruzzo). Since the last post-war period, its cultivation has spread throughout the coastal hilly area and today it is the main grape variety of the Abruzzo region. It is a plant capable of growing both in the internal mountainous areas and on the hills, reaching the coastal zones.

• IN THE VINEYARD
Montepulciano grown on Abruzzo pergolas at an altitude of about 450m above sea level on south-southeast facing soils that are typically calcareous and rich in skeleton.
Management of the vineyards follows the organic production method Reg. (EC) No. 834/2007.
• HARVEST
Harvested at its technological maturity to achieve the desired sugar level and the right acidity. It is advisable not to anticipate the harvest too much to avoid producing herbaceous, harsh wines that lack aromatic complexity.
• IN THE CELLAR
The grapes are vinified "in white" (i.e., without contact with the skins). Fermentation with indigenous yeasts is conducted at controlled temperatures.
• AGING
Maturation occurs for a few months in stainless steel tanks, on the fine lees which impart complex and significant tones to the wine. The evolution of the wine continues with subsequent aging in the bottle.
• SENSORY CHARACTERISTICS
Intense and bright cherry pink color. On the nose, it presents a pronounced olfactory presence of red fruits such as raspberries and pomegranate. Salinity and tannic sensation give great vitality to the wine. On the palate, the tannin and well-integrated acidity make the wine vibrant and fresh.
