The castle complex is the center of community life in the municipality of Summonte. The municipal administration of Summonte has worked hard in this direction, to make this castle complex the center and heart of the town’s cultural and social activities. It is therefore possible to see these reproductions, the archaeological section, the result of the excavations carried out from 1995 to 2007–2008 around the Castle, so there is a whole series of artifacts that can be admired inside the Angevin tower, where a museum route has been set up for this purpose. However, the castle complex is the center of initiatives, the beating heart of the cultural activities of the municipality of Summonte. Every year it hosts part of the festival that is held, part of Sentieri Mediterranei, this International Festival of Ethnic Music that has been held for many years now, and this center is filled throughout all these evenings and is certainly a lively place. Likewise, all the rooms of this complex are used to hold cultural presentations, meetings, workshops, including thematic ones with children and young people, who retrace that period, so there are also museum education workshops related to the Middle Ages, knights, constructions that can indeed be carried out inside this structure. There is also attention to the environment, attention to local products, to typical products both from a craft perspective: there are also reproductions of ceramics that were found during the excavations. Summonte has the desire and the will to distinguish itself as a town attentive to the ecosystem, the environment, and respect for nature and culture.
