The Amphitheater is located in the western area of the Roman city. Visible of the structure are a stretch of the foundation of the perimeter wall with two rectangular buttresses and seven radial walls of the cavea. The building is constructed in mixed masonry of reticulated work with limestone blocks and courses of roof tiles. The construction technique suggests a date between the end of the 1st century AD and the beginning of the following century. During the 4th century, a building quarry was established, before being covered by a layer of lapilli following the volcanic eruption of 472 BC. Above this layer, in the early medieval period, a necropolis was established.
