The archetype is a company located in Castellaneta, at the foot of the Murgia barese, not far from Altamura.
Founded by Francesco Valentino Dibenedetto, a farmer by birth, who later also becomes an agronomist.
Since the 1980s, he begins the conversion of the company to organic farming, then in 2000, to biodynamic practices.
After a few years, he realizes that there is still something preventing the return to the archetypal situation of the soil, the ecosystem, and thus also of the vineyard.
Inspired by the non-interventionist practices of Masanobu Fukuoka, in which the synergies between all the rings of the ecosystem are triggered, he moves to synergistic agriculture, for which, among other things, plowing is no longer practiced.
He embarks on this new adventure together with his wife Anna Maria and their four children: Carlo Nazareno, Domenico, Andrea, and Maria Clelia.
They cultivate 50 hectares of land, of which 30 are dedicated to vineyards.
In these specific climatic conditions, it is possible to enhance the precious grapes owned without the use of synthetic chemicals, cultivating native grape varieties such as Primitivo, Aglianico, Negroamaro, Fiano, and Greco, and rediscovering now-forgotten varieties like Maresco, Marchione, and Susumaniello.
In the winery, built entirely of tuff, the primary objective is to keep the taste, aroma, and color of the fruit unchanged; fermentations occur exclusively through indigenous yeasts, and no filtration takes place.
This results in synergistic and pure wines.
