Podere Magia is a 3-hectare agricultural company on the outskirts of San Polo d’Enza that produces Lambrusco, following the tradition of bottle fermentation, in the heart of the production area of Parmigiano-Reggiano: a triangle of unspoiled land where 1000 years ago the first wheel was produced.
The company is run by Stefano Pescarmona – an agronomist specialized in agroecology in 2005 at Berkeley, in California, and a scholar of biodynamic agriculture since 1995 – who, in addition to being a winemaker, provides consulting services for important Italian wine companies and teaches at the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo.
In 2013, Stefano moved to Emilia-Romagna and founded the agricultural company Podere Magia. In 2015, he planted the first vineyard from which he currently produces 4 wines that are bottle-fermented without added sulfites, of which the Lambrusco Maestri in purity represents the icon of a territory historically suited for the production of this type of wine.
The aging occurs on the lees in the bottle for 12 months before being ready for sale. The Lambrusco Podere Magia draws its originality from the soils of this tiny portion of Emilian territory, which, along with the sea breezes that refresh the warm Emilian nights, compose the elements that characterize the production of wines of rare depth and character.
