Tenuta Fornace was born from the dream of Andrea Rossi and his family, who have been linked to viticulture in Oltrepò Pavese for generations, a territory with a millenary tradition. Since the early 1800s, the family cultivated vineyards, initially dedicating a large part of the grapes to sale, while only a small production was vinified for local consumption. Over time, thanks to the commitment of subsequent generations, the activity evolved into a structured and recognized winemaking reality.
Today, Tenuta Fornace extends over approximately 40 hectares, cultivated with a sustainable approach that deeply respects natural balances. The vineyards are distributed in various vocated areas of the territory, aiming to enhance each grape variety in its ideal environment. The winery is located in Rovescala, in a panoramic position that overlooks the surrounding hills, a symbolic place where tradition and innovation coexist.
The company’s journey has seen fundamental milestones: from the first bottling during the interwar period, to development in the 1950s, to significant growth between 2000 and 2010 with the expansion of vineyards and the start of exports. Since 2010, Andrea Rossi has embarked on a decisive turn towards organic and biodynamic agriculture, focusing on regenerative practices to preserve soil fertility and obtain increasingly healthy grapes.
In the winery, the philosophy is consistent with that in the vineyard: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, absence of filtration and clarification, and minimal or no use of sulfites. Each wine thus becomes an authentic expression of the terroir and the human work that accompanies it.
Entering the TripleA family in 2022, Tenuta Fornace continues today to experiment, with the aim of creating lively, identity-rich wines that are deeply connected to their land.
